BETTER LATE THAN NEVER, THE "CHEECH & CHONG" DUNK HIGH PRO SB FINALLY ARRIVES

"You wanna get high?...Does Howdy Doody have wooden balls?"

Finally, after two weeks of uncertainty, the "Cheech & Chong" Dunk High Pro SB is available at select Nike SB retailers (including Palace 5ive, duh!). The shoe, designed by Todd Bratrud & inspired by Tommy Chong & Cheech Marin of Cheech & Chong fame, is a highly anticipated Quickstrike release, highly coveted by those "in the know" of underground sneaker collecting.

For those not so hip to the sneaker game, the shoe's release was postponed by Nike due to an article written by MSNBC Deputy Business Editor, Al Olson. In his article, Olson explained that Nike had designed the shoe after "the pot-smoking comedy duo of the 1970s and '80s" and that the shoe was to be released on 4.20 in honor of the well known "Pot Smoker's Holiday".

Nike never responded, but took proper steps to insure that there would be no backlash due to the article or the inspiration for the shoe's design. One of these steps was to postpone the release and allow for the articles buzz, albeit small, to die down. Well, now that Nike knows no one even cared about Olson's article, the shoe is available and balance has once again been restored to the sneaker universe.
