WORLD AIDS DAY

Over 90,000 people are living with HIV in the UK and new infections continue every year. World AIDS Day 2010 is all about raising awareness to tackle HIV prejudice and help stop the spread of HIV.

In case you've been living under a rock for the past few years, many companies have joined forces with (RED) to create limited edition products. (RED) is a business model created to raise awareness and money for the Global Fund by teaming up with some of the world's most highly sought-after brands to produce (PRODUCT)RED branded items. Each (PRODUCT)RED item sold goes directly to the Global Fund to invest in African HIV/AIDS programs, with a focus on women & children.

TWS PRESENTS: EAST VS. WEST SHOP VIDEO CONTEST!

Starting next Monday, November 1, skateboarding.com in association with Neff will be launching the East Vs. West Shop Video Contest. The competition will run for six weeks with the sole winner being announced on December 15. Each battle will have a poll for users to vote on their favorite video. The winner will be chosen from a combination of user votes and the TransWorld staff. The winning shop will get $10,000 ($7,000 in cash, $3,000 in Neff product). The Eliteboardshop/Palace 5ive Team will be up against Pawnshop Skate Co. straight out of Covina, CA on November 26th. Be sure to check out this contest, it's sure to be a good one! ZERO DEMO THIS THURSDAY, NEW P5IVE SKINS APPAREL, NIKE SB, & MORE!

Welcome to your weekend dose of awesome from your friends over at Palace 5ive. First up we've got the whole Zero team coming through this Thursday October 28th. They'll be doing a signing at the shop around 4PM, and then a demo at BRIDGE SPOT around 6PM. There will be prizes for best costume, and a PHOTO CONTEST sponsored by Thunder, so bring your cameras and get your best Halloween get up ready a few days early. Word on the street is that Nick is going to dress like Jamie Thomas from Ride the Sky. DC hasn't had a skateboarding event this big since the last Palace To Pulaski.
